AtomicPlayer Features: Predecode Gain and Clipping Control
Digital music is a great boon for convenience but often poses challenges in maintaining quality. One of its weaknesses is in the area of gain and clipping. Too much gain means you can go beyond the maximum amplitude that your computer can handle, resulting in harsh sounding clipping. Too little means the volume and dynamic range are compromised.
With AtomicPlayer, you can have the best of both worlds with the ability to set a gain value as high as you like, including gain resulting from equalizer settings or Replay Gain, but with clipping detection to reduce the gain when clipping occurs. Even without automatic clipping control you will have an indicator so you can manage the gain yourself if you like.
You get maximal dynamic range and pure sound as it was meant to be heard.
