AtomicPlayer Features: Save and Restore Library Data
Overview
Most of the information that AtomicPlayer uses is stored one of two places: either its own main library file, or in your audio files. When AtomicPlayer is set up it reads your audio files and this is the basis for your library.
You can, however, add additional information that isn't stored directly in your audio files, and this information is retained only in your library. For this reason, if you move to a new computer some of the information stored in AtomicPlayer may not be carried over with your audio files.
The Save and Restore Library feature allows you to save this additional information in a separate file which you can then load from your new setup. This way, you won't have to recreate the information that was only availble on the old machine.
Details
The Save and Restore Library feature will save the following data for backup or moving to a new computer:
- Podcasts
- Radio Presets
- Automatic Playlist Definitions
- Equalizer Presets
- Ratings
- Play Count / Last Played Information
- Replay Gain Data (this can optionally be saved in your audio files)
- File Add Dates
To use the feature, from the File menu, choose Save / Restore Library Information and choose either a save and restore. You will then specify a file location and AtomicPlayer will do the rest of the operation automatically.
